Plot 5/5
As far as the plot goes, I give it an easy five out of five. I love the whole concept of a bodyguard and the person they are protecting. I haven’t read any other books like that yet but I think this is going to be one of my favorite tropes also was super excited for this book after reading the first one because I felt like the plots of the use for a little little bit easier and good for me when I take a break from my dark romance reads.
Structure 5/5
For the structure, I also gave it a five out of five. I felt the pacing was 100% perfect! My biggest worry with romance books is that few things feel forced or things happen too fast, but for this book, it was completely chef kiss! I feel like the relationship was completely relatable, and their insight into the relationship was the same. This was a very easy read, as everything just felt so natural and so real.
Characters 5/5
I know I’m going to sound like a broken record for this book review, but the character also received a five out of five from me. As of right now, Bridget is my favorite twisted series girl and Rhys is definitely my favorite guy in the series so far. Now I know there are four books, and this is only the second, so there is time for that to change, but Reese made me think so much of my current fiancé, so it just made it more fun for me to read. I also felt like Bridget was such an interesting dimensional character, so hearing her story was really exciting for me. it also wasn’t a typical princess story, which I found extremely refreshing, especially as an adult now reading these books it did something for my inner child to read about a princess in a more adult setting.
Feeling 4/5
As far as the feelings go in his book, I gave it a four out of five. It wasn’t as sad as many other books that I’ve read in the characters didn’t have that dark of backgrounds. However, there are struggles that are very relatable, which I know is surprising since the whole book is based on royalty, and just felt like the way they thought about things is how any normal person in the situation would. So, even though the whole concept of princess and bodyguard is extremely foreign to all of us, it was still so easy to relate and understand how these characters were feeling about everything they were going through if you have a lot of triggers or are sensitive to more tragic stories, this book is great for you
Spice 3/5
For the spice, I gave it a three out of five. I think there was a very good amount for the book itself, but I would definitely say it’s more plot than spice, which I was happy about. I would say there are a couple of spicy moments in the book, but when they are spicy, they are SPICEY.
Overall 5/5
Overall, I gave this book a five out of five. I really found myself enjoying this book and thinking about reading it when I wasn’t able to. The characters were very real and relatable to me which was extremely fun. This book is a lot more light-hearted than most of the books I read, so this book left me feeling very refreshed. If you are someone who wants spice, but not really triggers this would be great for you!
