Hey guys! I recently finished God of Rina by Rina Kent. I must say she really does not miss! I love this series so much! I originally gave the first book in the Legacy of God, God of Malice, three stars, but I think I should revisit it. Have you read God of Malice? If so what did you think? But anyway, here are my thoughts on the book.
Plot 4/5
For the plot, I give it a four out of five. I really enjoyed the characters and the banter, but I would’ve liked to see a little bit more of them beforehand when they first met in front of Killian‘s car. I also would’ve liked to get more of Mia‘s thought process before Landon was such a big part of the plot. I think them going into her backstory more did help fill this gap for me in a way. I also was happy to see some more “normal” interactions. They actually just hang out which I found very refreshing.
Structure 5/5
I gave the structure of five out of five. I think the pacing of the entire book was really good. I was glad that Kent showed the progression of their relationship so in depth. I also really liked how they made Landon decide that he wants to work on his empathy skills. I was a little curious how that was going to play out since he has been such a consistent villain in these books, but I don’t feel that anything took away from his character. I also liked that Kent didn’t just excuse away his actions and actually showed him trying to work on bettering himself.
Characters 5/5
For characters, I gave this a five out of five. Mia is probably one of my favorite female main characters in this series. So far, she is so dynamic, and I love her attitude and the way she handles herself. I also really liked Landon. He was probably my favorite of the Legacy of God’s boys, but I’ll be honest: I was way more into Mia’s character overall. I think the characters in this entire series feel so real to me and never felt disingenuous.
Feeling 5/5
For the feelings for this book I gave it a five out of five. As with the other books in this universe these characters have such sad backstories. Mias was so heartbreaking I did shed a few tears for her. Landon didn’t have to sad of a backstory, which I was kind of glad for that. I feel if they both would’ve been really sad it would’ve been harder for Landon to help Mia through her issues.
Spice 3/5
I gave the spice for this book a three out of five. I definitely think there was more spice in the God of Wrath ( the previous book). This book had its very spicy moments, but it wasn’t as much of a story as the other one was. I also felt it was a very little bit of a slow burn. It’s more like a moderate burn, not too slow but not too fast.
Overall 5/5
Overall and give this book a five out of five. Rina Kent has done it again! The way she makes these characters feel so authentic makes these books so much more enjoyable. I also love how the characters are mentioned in other books, so by the time you get to their book, you are ready to know more. This one was my favorite of the Legacy of God’s books thus far! I cant wait for the next book!
