Hey guys! I recently finished God of Fury by Rina Kent. This is the 5th book out of 6 in the Legacy of Gods series. The 6th book is scheduled to release in August, so If you are considering reading this series now is a good time to start!
Plot 3/5
For the plot of this book, I gave it a three out of five. Now, hear me out! I know many people really love this book and some this might be their favorite book by Rina Kent. I really did enjoy it, and the characters were definitely amazing. However, after reading so many Rina Kent/dark romance books in a row, it felt a little predictable to me. That just could be because I read all of the God of Legacy books pretty much back to back, but I just felt like I knew what was going to happen the whole time.
Structure 4/5
For the structure, I gave it a four out of five. I think, for the most part, I was very happy with how everything was paced and how they got together. The only thing that I felt was a little off was how quickly they started the spice. I felt with how reserved and hesitant Brandon was it would’ve been good to see a little bit more resistance. Now granted, we did see a lot of that throughout the book. I just think it all started off a little fast for the characters, specifically Brandon.
Characters 5/5
As I said earlier, I absolutely love the characters! The fact that Niko and Bran got together was amazing. Honestly, seeing their relationship grow in develop, I don’t think there would’ve been any other better fit. Niko was absolutely amazing, and I love him so much. I also was not prepared for all the trauma and baggage Bran had. I kind of assumed he was going to have some thing since that is kind of a similar theme in these books, but I just didn’t realize how dark it was going to get.
Feeling 5/5
For the feelings, I did give it a five out of five. Although I felt that the book was a little bit predictable, it doesn’t make any of the trauma or sadness the characters deal with any less impactful. Hearing what happened to Brandon completely broke my heart, and I knew something tragic was going to happen towards the end, but it still didn’t take away from the heartbreaking factor. I also have absolutely loved the perspective of the two characters and they both had very different views on how the world would see their relationship. I thought that was kind of beautiful to read about, and it really made me think of things differently.
Spice 4/5
Now, for the spice! I gave it an easy four out of five. There is definitely more spice in this book than the others in the series. In my opinion, the only reason it didn’t get a five was because I did feel that it covered more heavy topics and we saw a lot more perspective so it was a little more balanced. However, this book will not disappoint for sure!
Overall 4/5
Overall and give this book a four out of five! I had a good time reading this book; I just couldn’t get over the fact that I pretty much knew what was going to happen. I still 1,000% recommend this author and this series and I still plan to read the 6th book when it comes out!
